Which universities require you to apply directly to the uni?

While for most programs you only need to apply via the state-specific admissions centre (e.g. VTAC, UAC, QTAC, SATAC, TISC), some also require you to submit an application directly to the university.

Here’s the list of universities that require you to apply directly:

  • Newcastle & UNE (Joint Medical Program) – need to apply both through UAC and directly to the university
  • UNSW (Medicine) – need to apply both through UAC and directly to the university
  • La Trobe (Medicine) – need to apply through VTAC, but all applicants also need to submit a rurality form directly to the university
  • James Cook University (Medicine) – need to apply both through QTAC and directly to the university
  • James Cook University (Dental Surgery) – need to apply both through QTAC and directly to the university
  • University of Tasmania (Medicine) – only need to apply directly to the university
  • Curtin University (Medicine) – need to apply through TISC, but other compulsory forms (e.g. predicted ATAR) must be submitted directly to the university
  • UWA (Medicine) – need to apply through TISC, but other compulsory forms (e.g. predicted ATAR) must be submitted directly to the university
