New South Wales

Charles Sturt University (Bachelor of Dental Science)	UCAT	Interview results	The minimum ATAR required for this course is 90. At least 50% of places will be set aside for rural or First Nation applicants. These applicants will be ranked for interviews and course offers separately to other applicants.
University of Newcastle / University of New England (Joint Medical Program)	UCAT (sections 1-4)	JMP assessment UCAT Meeting academic threshold (TBC)	The JMP assessment consists of an interview and a personal qualities assessment. The minimum ATAR required for this course is 94.30, or 91.40 for rural applicants. The cut-off UCAT score to be invited to JMP assessment will differ for rural and non-rural students. There is no threshold requirement for the UCAT subtests.
University of New South Wales (Bachelor of Medical Studies / Doctor of Medicine)	Highest combined ranking from UCAT (sections 1-4) and academic results	Highest combined ranking from UCAT, interview and academic results	Applicants that do not reach the 50th percentile on the UCAT will not be invited for an interview. The minimum ATAR required for this course is 96 (or equivalent) for general applicants, or lower for those who apply via special entry schemes. For rural applicants, rural eligibility criteria will also be considered when making interview and course offers.
Western Sydney University / Charles Sturt University (Joint Program in Medicine)	UCAT	Interview (75%) UCAT (25%) Meeting academic threshold	The minimum ATAR required for this course is 95.5 (non-Greater Western Sydney), 93.5 (Greater Western Sydney), or 91.5 (Rural Entry Admission Scheme). The UCAT threshold for interview selection is not determined by overall UCAT score; individual sections may be weighted differently. The UCAT threshold may be lower for GWS applicants than non-GWS applicants. Different requirements and processes apply to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander applicants.
University of Sydney (Bachelor of Arts and Doctor of Medicine)	Meeting ATAR threshold	ATAR Written assessment Panel discussion	The minimum adjusted ATAR required for this course is 99.95 (or equivalent) for general applicants, 90 for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander applicants, or 99.5 for E12 applicants.

For candidates with the same UCAT score, Section 5 will be used as a tiebreaker, and then Section 1 if still tied. Those who apply via the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander admissions pathway are not required to sit UCAT (though it is encouraged). For 2022 entry, the lowest UCAT score for interview offers was 3030 (or 2560 for Rural Access Scheme applicants).
University of Queensland (Bachelor of Dental Science – Honours)	No interview	UCAT (sections 1-5) (first ranking) UCAT (section 5, in the case of a tiebreaker, and then section 1 if still tied)	The minimum academic threshold for this course is an adjusted ATAR of 99 (or equivalent). Those who apply via the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander admissions pathway are not required to sit UCAT.
James Cook University (Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery)	Written application Predicted or actual academic results	Interview Academic results	There is no minimum OP/ATAR required for this course. NZ applicants completing NCEA in 2022 are encouraged to apply for 2024 entry, as NCEA results are unlikely to be released early enough to be considered for 2023 entry.
James Cook University (Bachelor of Dental Surgery)	No interview	Written application Academic results	There is no minimum OP/ATAR required for this course. NZ applicants completing NCEA in 2022 are encouraged to apply for 2024 entry, as NCEA results are unlikely to be released early enough to be considered for 2023 entry.
University of the Sunshine Coast (Bachelor of Medical Science)	No interview	Academic results	The minimum academic threshold for this course is an ATAR of 99.80. Applicants must have completed Year 12 up to three years before application, and must not have attempted tertiary study. Some places may be set aside for rural applicants.
Griffith University (Bachelor of Medical Science)	No interview	Academic results	The minimum academic threshold for this course is an ATAR of 99.85. Entry into the Doctor of Medicine is guaranteed, subject to completing the course with a GPA of at least 5.0. Applicants must have completed secondary study up to three years before application, and must not have attempted tertiary study at diploma level or higher. Some places may be set aside for rural applicants.
Griffith University (Bachelor of Dental Health Science)	UCAT (sections 1-4)	UCAT (20%) Interview (40%) Academic results (40%)	A competitive ATAR for this course is usually 90.0+. Each of the three entry criteria have a minimum threshold that must be met. Provisional entry into the Master of Dentistry is guaranteed, subject to achieving additional requirements. Those who apply via the First Peoples admissions pathway are not required to sit UCAT. For 2022 entry, the lowest UCAT score for interview offers was 2760 (or 2400 for rural applicants). Some places may be set aside for rural applicants.
Bond University (Medical Program)	Academic results Psychometric test results	Interview	Around 50% of applicants will be invited to sit a psychometric test based on their academic results. Interview offers will then be made based on psychometric test results.
Central Queensland University (Bachelor of Medical Science – Pathway to Medicine)	UCAT (sections 1-4; in the case of a tiebreaker, 5 will be used, and then 1 if still tied)	UCAT (sections 1-4) (25%) Interview (50%) (will also be used as tiebreaker for applicants with the same final score) Academic results (25%)	The minimum adjusted ATAR required for this course is 95. Those who apply via the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander admissions pathway are not required to sit UCAT. Those who achieve the minimum ATAR but fail to receive an interview offer due to a low UCAT score may be considered in a subsequent interview round. To be eligible for entry, you must be graduating high school at your first attempt in the year of application (e.g. must graduate in 2022 for 2023 entry). Applicants who do not achieve a minimum interview score will not receive a course offer.

South Australia

NB: These new programs replace the Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (final intake was 2021).

Flinders University (Bachelor of Clinical Sciences, Doctor of Medicine)	No interview	UCAT (sections 1-5) (10%) Academic results (90%)	The minimum adjusted ATAR required for this course is 95.

Tasmania

University of Tasmania (Bachelor of Medical Science and Doctor of Medicine)	No interview (TBC)	Meeting UCAT threshold (sections 1-4) Academic results (final ranking) (TBC)	The minimum adjusted ATAR required for this course is 95 (or equivalent). Those who apply via the Aboriginal Entry Application Process are not required to sit UCAT (TBC). The UCAT threshold is 50th percentile or above; however, this may be adjusted for students from disadvantaged or underrepresented groups. NB: These new programs replace the Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (final intake was 2022). The new course has the same 5-year duration as the old course, but provides an AQF Level 9 qualification instead of an AQF Level 7 qualification.

Western Australia

For rural applicants, course offers will be based on UCAT, interview, academic results and rurality rating. If interviews cannot be carried out due to COVID-19, Section 5 of the UCAT may be used as part of the selection process.
University of Western Australia (Dental Medicine – assured pathway)	UCAT (sections 1-4) Meeting or predicted to meet academic threshold	UCAT Interview Academic results	The minimum ATAR for this course is 99 or equivalent (or 96 or equivalent for rural or Broadway applicants). For rural applicants, course offers will be based on UCAT, interview, academic results and rurality rating. Victoria

To meet the geographic requirement, applicants must have resided for at least 5 years consecutively (or 10 years cumulatively) in areas classified as RA2 to RA5, and preferably have completed Years 11 and 12 at a school in an area classified as RA2 to RA5.
La Trobe University (Bachelor of Dental Science – Honours)	No interview	Academic results	The minimum adjusted ATAR required for this course is 99.45.

Auckland & Otago

University of Auckland (Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery)	Meeting GPA threshold Grades in the 4 core courses (40%) CST results (60%)	UCAT (sections 1-5) (15%) Interview (25%) GPA for the 4 core courses (24%) CST results (36%)	The 4 core courses are BIOSCI 107, CHEM 110, MEDSCI 142, and POPLHLTH 111. To meet the GPA threshold for this course, applicants must achieve a minimum GPA of 6.0 across all first-year courses, with no fails. A Clinical Selection Test (CST) will be used as part of the admissions process for 2023 entry.
University of Otago (Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery)	No interview	Meeting UCAT thresholds (sections 1-5) Meeting academic thresholds Academic results (final ranking)	To meet the academic threshold for this course, applicants must achieve a minimum mark of 70% on all prescribed HSFY papers at first attempt. Applicants are also required to have passed the HSFY English Diagnostic Test or ENGL 126.
University of Otago (Bachelor of Dental Surgery)	Meeting UCAT thresholds (sections 1-5) Meeting academic threshold	Meeting interview threshold (TBC) Academic results (final ranking)	To meet the academic threshold, applicants must achieve a minimum average mark of 70% on all prescribed HSFY papers at first attempt, with no paper grade less than 65%.
